How to Choose

  • Drive and trailer axles typically run Type 30/30 spring brakes; steer axles run Type 20 or 24 service chambers.
  • Long stroke ("L") gives extra usable stroke as linings wear — if the old unit was long-stroke, replace long-stroke.

Match the type and stroke stamped on the old chamber's nameplate — chambers are standardized, so a Type 30/30 fits a Freightliner the same as a Peterbilt or a trailer axle. Two air ports = spring brake, one port = service chamber.

Two sections of 30 square inches each: a service diaphragm for pedal braking plus a spring section for parking and emergency. It's the standard spring brake on drive and trailer axles.
