Meritor numbers appear across foundation brakes, air-system components, wheel-end parts, and automatic slack adjusters. A part number is the fastest starting point, but the replacement still needs to match the component type and its complete technical configuration.

Match the specification that controls fitment
Different Meritor component families require different checks:
- Brake chambers: type, stroke, pushrod length, mounting, ports, and clevis
- Air dryers: model family, heater voltage, port locations, pressure setting, purge valve, and bracket
- Slack adjusters: arm length, spline count, spline diameter, offset, and adjustment system
- Brake shoes: FMSI family, brake size, lining rating, axle position, and hardware
- Brake drums: brake size, pilot, bolt circle, bolt-hole count, offset, flange, and weight class
Why an FMSI number is not the only brake-shoe check
An FMSI number helps identify shoe geometry, but the complete replacement should also match the brake size, lining specification, axle rating, axle position, and included hardware. Do not assume every product carrying the same base FMSI family is identical.
Air dryer bracket and configuration differences
The same basic dryer application may be available as a bracketed or no-bracket assembly. For example, a no-bracket replacement may be appropriate only when the existing mounting bracket can be reused and the ports, voltage, and dimensions match.
Search the Meritor cross-reference page, or browse brake chambers, air dryers, slack adjusters, brake shoes, and brake drums.
Contact GBK with the full Meritor number and original-part photos when the product family or configuration is unclear.
